Terms and Conditions for Guests and Workshop/Retreat Participants 

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the agreement between you (“the Guest” or “Participant”) and “Las Mecías” (“we,” “us,” or “the Organizer”), concerning your participation in our accommodation, retreats, workshops, or other events (collectively, the “Event”) located in Spain. By booking with us, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

2. Booking and Payment

  • A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of a deposit or full payment as specified at the time of booking.

  • Payments may be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other accepted methods.

  • The full balance is due no later than 30 days before the start of the Event unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Cancellation Policy

By the Participant:

Cancellations must be made in writing via email. The following cancellation fees apply:

  • More than 60 days before the event: Full refund minus a €50 administrative fee.

  • 30–59 days before the event: 50% of the total cost refunded.

  • Less than 30 days before the event: No refund.

If a replacement participant is found for your booking, we may offer a partial or full refund at our discretion.

Travel insurance covering cancellation is strongly recommended.

By the Organizer:

We reserve the right to cancel the Event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to insufficient participants, instructor illness, or force majeure (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions).

  • In such cases, we will offer:

    • A full refund, or

    • Transfer of your booking to a future date or similar event (subject to availability)

We are not responsible for any other costs incurred, such as flights or travel expenses.

4. Guest Conduct

By attending the Event, you agree to:

  • Respect all local laws and customs in Spain.

  • Refrain from any disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behavior.

  • Follow instructions given by staff, facilitators, or venue management.

  • Use the facilities respectfully, leaving shared areas clean and undamaged.

We reserve the right to remove any participant who violates these guidelines without refund.

5. Health, Safety & Medical Conditions

  • Participants must inform us in advance of any medical, physical, or mental conditions that may affect participation.

  • You participate voluntarily and assume all risks associated with activities during the Event.

  • We reserve the right to decline participation in specific activities based on health/safety considerations.

5. Health, Safety & Medical Conditions

  • All participants are required to take full personal responsibility for their own health, safety, and wellbeing during the Event.

  • You acknowledge that participation in physical, emotional, or spiritual activities (including but not limited to yoga, movement, hiking, breathwork, or meditation) involves inherent risks. You participate voluntarily and at your own risk.

  • You are expected to act sensibly, listen to your body, and make decisions appropriate to your own abilities and limitations.

  • You agree to inform the Organizer prior to the Event of any physical or mental health conditions, injuries, medications, allergies, or other relevant medical information.

  • We reserve the right to deny participation in certain activities if we believe it may compromise your safety or the safety of others.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
We are not medical professionals and do not provide medical advice. The retreat or workshop is not a substitute for professional healthcare, therapy, or treatment. Any physical, mental, or emotional practices offered are optional and undertaken at your own discretion.

We accept no liability for any injury, accident, or harm that may occur during your stay or participation, unless caused by proven negligence on our part.

Medical insurance valid in Spain is strongly recommended.

6. Travel & Insurance

You are responsible for arranging your own travel, including passports, visas (if applicable), and arrival/departure transportation.

We strongly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes:

  • Medical coverage

  • Trip cancellation/interruption

  • Baggage loss

  • Personal liability

7. Use of Images

During the Event, we may take photos or videos for promotional purposes. By attending, you grant permission for your image to be used unless you inform us in writing before the event.

8. Liability Waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or expense resulting from your participation.

  • You release [Your Business Name], its employees, and contractors from any and all claims arising from your attendance, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

  • You agree that your participation is entirely at your own risk.

  • You release and discharge [Your Business Name], its owners, staff, facilitators, and partners from any and all liability for injuries (including physical, psychological, or emotional), loss, or damages you may suffer as a result of participation in any aspect of the Event.

  • You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to assess your own physical and mental capabilities before and during the Event.

  • The Organizer is not liable for any accidents or injuries resulting from your own actions, choices, or pre-existing conditions.

9. Data Protection (GDPR Compliance)

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any personal data you provide will be handled securely and only used for purposes related to the Event. We do not share your data with third parties without consent.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [City/Region of your business or event location].

11. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, labor strikes, pandemics, or government restrictions.
