Retreat -

Tattoo + Ritual

20-25th November 2026

Spend 5 days living slowly and intentionally, honouring ritual and receiving a tattoo that reflects something of significance in your life.

Whether you have adorned yourself with a plethora of tattoos or it is your first, all are welcome.

Tattooing has been ritualised in many cultures across centuries. They have symbolised many things from rebellion, spiritual protection, social status, even medicinal therapy. In a more modern context, they can signify many more things - a remembrance of a person, a pet, or particular time in our lives. For some, they are simply adornments, a way of expressing oneself.

While most tattoo sessions are inherently an exchange between artist and client, this retreat focuses on the intentionality of ritual, meaning honouring each moment as it arises, feeling into the senses and consciously co-creating a design and piece that reflects you, at this time.

This retreat is the antidote to rushing. To get back in touch with your own rhythm, to slow down, to feel. Interwoven into the days are meditative group practices, deeply nourishing meals and ample time for rest and reflection between tattoo sessions. Sit by the fire and read, have a cup of tea in the winter sun while you write, or go on a long walk in the mountains.

The Artist - Megan Stacey

Megan Stacey is a British tattoo artist based in Falmouth, Cornwall. While finishing her Fine Art degree in 2018, she began experimenting with a tattoo machine on herself and friends for fun.

As her interest in tattooing grew, she wanted to start tattooing professionally. She drew up some of her patterns on scrappy pieces of paper and took them into her local tattoo studio. After visiting a few times and having conversations with the owner, she was unexpectedly offered an apprenticeship.

She currently works at Stories and Ink in Falmouth.

Megan’s work

Once Megan started the apprenticeship in 2019, she was refining designs based on her painting style at the time. She had always painted decorative patterns, mainly inspired by textiles, jewellery and ceramics. This has slowly evolved into the style she works with today.

Her designs and patterns are often symmetrical, with organic, flowing shapes reminiscent of natural forms like plants or symbolic motifs.

See more of Megan’s work below, and on her Instagram.
